Trucking Careers

A Career for the Future

IS IT A CAREER WITH A FUTURE?
According to an article published by the American Trucking Association (ATA), the trucking industry expects to hire about 80,000 new drivers every year for 10 years.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU?
Trucking companies must compete with other industries for employees. They must offer pay, benefits, and work environments that will attract quality people like yourself.

DOES IT MEAN YOU WILL HAVE TO SPEND MONTHS AWAY FROM HOME?
In order to attract stable employees, trucking companies are becoming much more attuned to the needs of their drivers and getting them home more often.

HOW CAN IITR HELP YOU SECURE A JOB IN THIS REWARDING CAREER?
IITR invites many trucking companies to our campuses to present recruiting sessions. Because of this service, students often find themselves with multiple job offers prior to graduation.

WHAT IS SO UNIQUE ABOUT IITR?
Our entire focus is on truck driver training and our students’ needs. Unlike community colleges, we ONLY offer truck training which allows us to offer the best program in the business. We are the oldest licensed truck school in the Northwest. We have 5 campuses conveniently located in Oregon and offer day, evening, and weekend programs to accommodate most everyone’s schedule.

STAFF
Our staff is very experienced, well trained, and committed to our mission statement and goals. Because of our excellent hiring decisions, we have a VERY LOW turnover rate. Many of us at IITR have been here in excess of 10 years. It is not uncommon to see ads in the “Help Wanted” section of the Sunday Oregonian for truck driving instructors at our competitors’ schools. We believe our low employee turnover is because at IITR we are the proven leader in truck driver training. If you had a choice, wouldn’t you want to work for the best?
